Five Signs Your Website Is Quietly Losing You Customers

Five Signs Your Website Is Quietly Losing You Customers

A website can fail you while working perfectly. All it takes is one small annoyance at the exact moment someone is ready to buy.

1. It takes more than a few seconds to load on a phone

Most visits happen on mobile data. If your homepage takes its time loading, a chunk of visitors are gone before it finishes.

2. Your phone number or WhatsApp isn't visible without scrolling

The easier it is to act the moment someone decides to buy, the more of them follow through. Make them hunt for how to reach you, and some percentage just leave instead.

3. The last update on your site is over a year old

An outdated ‘latest news’ section or an old price list makes visitors unsure whether you're still operating — especially for service businesses where trust matters before anyone pays.

4. It looks fine on a laptop and broken on a phone

Most traffic in Nigeria is mobile-first. A site that was only ever actually tested on a laptop is quietly failing the majority of the people who visit it.

5. There’s no single, clear next step

Five competing buttons — or none at all — leaves the visitor to decide what to do next on their own. Most won't bother. They'll just leave.

None of this needs a full rebuild

Most of these are fixable in a focused pass. Worth checking before assuming the whole site needs to start over. Our maintenance and support covers regular fixes, and what a redesign should actually fix explains when a bigger change is worth it.
